Had fun redesigning and polishing up the website for Authentik Creative Inc. 

OVERVIEW

An entertainment focused design studio needed a complete revamp of their website. The scoop of the website was clear from the beginning, to update the backend and optimize the front end to be ADA compliant and be a better experience on mobile and tablet devices. Authentik also wanted improvements in their UX and UI so that clients can easily view the work and services that Authentik offers.

THE RESEARCH

When a studio that focuses on keyart and designing for the entertainment industry, having a digital presence can be hard to understand since their strength isn't the digital environment. Instead they reached out to me and my focus on the digital world. I wanted to understand everything that the new website needed Authentik, the main take away was that they use the website as their selling took to send clients specific designs. The challenge was to update the website so that the user can feel comfortable exploring it.

FLOWS

The website was years old, 7 to be exact, and it showed. The trends of 2016 were all about single page layouts, everything you wanted and/or needed was all on the homepage. After 7 years of adding work on one page people didn't know where to look, it was just an endless scrolling mess. So I simplified that, only showing the latest work on the homepage. People are no strangers to find what they need under a menu. So I added categories that let users isolate and find what they wanted faster. Keyart and digital designs, trailers, all their respective sections on the website. 

MOBILE EXPERIENCE

Although the data showed that most people come directly to the site on desktop it was clear that the mobile experience needed refinement and love. It had no care in the previous experience. Pages didn't render properly and loading times were long, more than a minute in some cases. So optimization was key. 

LOOK & FEEL

Being a small studio, an introducing to Authentik was in order. A small intro reel at the top of the website was enough to introduce Authentik as a boutique studio. The work came a very very close second, allowing users to see the latest creations was key to excite potential clients on what Authentik was capable of.

THE LAUNCH

A good facelift inproved how users a better view of what Authentik is all about as a company and their services.
